Introduction
Barry
Bros. Specialised Services has developed a unique mobile liquid
treatment service that can cost-effectively treat liquid containing
solids onsite and provide water recycling opportunities. The
unit can combine with traditional methods of liquid waste collection
including submersible pumps and vacuum-equipped trucks to provide
on site waste treatment and recycling. The
resultant treated liquid in many cases is of sufficient quality
to recycle back into the process, reducing both water consumption
and the level of liquid discharge.
Equipment
Resources
The
mobile process can handle waste volumes up to 8,000 litres per
hour with solids concentrations ranging from 0.1% to 3% solids. Using
a revolutionary Tangential Flow management and combining this with
the electronically metered addition of base chemicals the units
can:
| > Treat and neutralise acidic or alkaline waste |
| > Remove suspended solids |
| > Reduce organic waste loads (dissolved and undissolved) |
| > Provide valuable opportunities to recycle process water |
Applications
> Water
recycling plant set up at J L Murphy reserve in Port Melbourne
that uses telecommunication and power pit water as an input to
supply the sporting ovals in Port Melbourne.
> Currently
have processed over 3 million litres in 6 months of operation.
> Water
recycling plant used at the rail tunnel link at Parramatta, to
remove sludge from the drilling and stormwater. Operating 24 hours
per day 7 days per week.
> Water
treatment of the waste water system at APM Maryvale to remove
heavy sludges prior to putting water to sewer.
Benefits
| By using the on site capability and the processing potential the Xtracta can lead to reduced costs from: |
| > Reduction
of wastewater and associated discharge fees. |
| > Recycling capability, which will reduce the volume and cost of |
| water
used for processing. |
| > Reduced
transportation and pumping costs of waste. |
