Barry Bros. & City of Port Phillip Open Water Recycling Plant

Barry Bros. in conjunction with the City of Port Phillip recently opened a water recycling plant at Port Melbourne.

The project was officially opened by the Deputy Premier and Minister for the Environment the Honourable John Thwaites.

The project involves the collection of waste water from various communication and power road side pits and taking them to the Port Melbourne site for treatment.

The treated water is then used to water the adjacent sporting ovals at J L Murphy Reserve. The recycling plant uses Barry Bros. technology and operational skills to operate 7 days per week and generates over 400,000 litres every month.
