Hydro-jetting is the use of water pressure to water volume to effectively clean surfaces.Barry Bros. introduced Non Destructive Digging as a new concept of locating, exposing and verifying the location of underground services. QUESTWith advanced technology, Vacuum Loaders can transfer wet and dry products over long distances. Barry Bros. has developed a unique mobile liquid treatment service that can cost-effectively treat liquid containing solids onsite and provide Water Recycling opportunities.

Introduction

Hydro-jetting is the use of water pressure and water volume to effectively clean surfaces. Hydro-jetting employs special purpose pumping equipment and generates water pressures up to 40,000 psi. The benefits of hydro-jetting include the rapid, environmentally sound and safe cleaning of many varied types of surfaces.

In addition to the high pressure water pumps, the selection of special purpose accessories and nozzles is critical to the success of every project. Barry Bros. is committed to continually investing in the latest technology in nozzles to ensure we can offer our clients’ solutions to their cleaning needs.

Equipment Resources

> 40hp to 450hp pump sets (up to 40,000 psi)
> Tank Cleaning Heads
> Freelance - Automated Tube Bundle Cleaning units.
(single / twin flexible lances)
> Autotube - Automated Tube Bundle Cleaning unit.
(triple rigid lance)

> Aquacutter - Fully programmable robotic system.

Aquacutter

After building its own high pressure water blasting rig to remove the unsound concrete on Nauru House in Melbourne, Barry Bros. decided to buy a specialised rig using the latest technology and capable of greater production. After looking at machines around the world, it settled on the Swedish Aquajet HV450 rig.

One of the features of hydro-demolition is that it is able to detect unsound concrete and selectively remove it while leaving the sound concrete. This makes it much more efficient than the traditional jack hammering method. The Barry Bros. rig has an input of 450 hp, operates at a pressure at 1,000 bar and requires 180 litres of water per minute.

Applications

Applications include; General hydro-jet cleaning, Tube bundles, heat exchanger and evaporator cleaning, Automated tank cleaning, Pipe and line cleaning, Automated boiler cleaning, Automated rotary / tubular air heaters cleaning systems, Ash & cooling water line cleaning, Floor cleaning, Paint removal, Concrete spalling removal and Concrete demolition.
