|
|
| Equipment: 450 hp 1000bar Hammelmann pump set Aqua Cutter Robot |
| |
| Problem: The concrete used for the abutments are to be rated at 32mpa but after they were poured they measure only 20mpa. Due to nature of mechanical removal by using jack hammers it can create stress fractures throughout the concrete and even into the piles or footings. |
| |
| Solution: Glenelg Services were advised to use Hydro Demolition by the bridge engineers so Barry Bros. were contacted to remove the concrete using high volume high pressure (up to 1000bar) to remove all concrete allowing a fresh pour. |
